Design tips for dog clothes
Keep it bold and simple: on a small back, a name, a short slogan or one clear graphic reads better than fine detail or long text.
Use white or bright ink on the black and navy garments. Dark line art almost disappears there.
Keep text away from the edges of your file. The fabric curves down the dog's sides, and our templates follow that curve.
Questions
What size should a dog apparel design be?
Gelato describes a full-width back print area but lists no size in mm (checked October 2026). Our templates use a square design area, so a square PNG such as 1500 × 1500 px fills it exactly.
Can I put my design on the front?
Gelato's dog clothes have one print area, on the back. That is why our templates show dogs from behind, or the garment back side up.
Are these mockups free?
Yes. They are in the free template library (you need a free account). Free mockups carry a small watermark, except your first 50 after you sign up.
